Allison Brennan's North of Nowhere is a thrilling account of a desperate race for freedom by teen Kristen and ten-year-old deaf Ryan McIntyre. Children of LA crime boss Boyd McIntyre, they have been hidden in Montana by Tony Reed (who loved their mother) for five years.

As the story opens, Tony realizes that they've been found. They escape in a stolen plane. When the fuel line is hit by gunfire, they crash land in the wilderness, pursuit not far behind. Badly injured, Tony sends the kids on without him. The plane belonged to rancher Nick Lorenzo, who also searches, helped by his son Jason (who was close to Kris).

The children's aunt, Ruby McIntyre, had fled her family for the army years before, and now is a successful architect. She had cut contact with her niece and nephew on Tony's insistence. Now, Nick calls her (as Tony's emergency contact) and Ruby flies up to join his search. All three groups ride or trek through the wilderness. LAPD Detective Lance Jackson searches as well - but what are his real motives?

Tension escalates and each group faces its own challenges as the storm builds. The survivors end up at the Lorenzo ranch for a final confrontation, which includes the children's evil grandmother Frankie, head of the family business. Don't miss this gripping read!
