as the second in Taylor Moore's explosive thriller series starring DEA Special Agent (and former Green Beret) Garrett Kohl. While in Afghanistan, Garrett had rescued then ten-year-old Asadi Saleem, who is now under his and his cantankerous father Butch's protective custody at their ranch in the High Plains of northwest Texas.
A
s this episode opens, Garrett is on an assignment with the Texas Rangers and CIA that pits him against the Garza Cartel. Not surprisingly, things go awry, but he does get out alive, along with CIA operations officer Kim Manning and the confidential informant (Ray Smitty) who was key to the operation. When it's all over though, there's bad news about Asadi - an uncle with influence in Pakistan wants him back.
B
ack at the ranch, trouble is brewing fast. Talon Corporation is digging for rare earth minerals and ranchers and farmers in the area had signed away rights many years before. However Talon goes way beyond lawful tactics, deploying an offensive of violent mercenaries from former Russian special operations forces. Ray Smitty gets pulled into the action along with his daughter Savanah, and Asadi - the two bond.
A
s before, the action is constant and edge-of-your-chair intense as the good guys strive to survive constant fire and vicious assaults, while gathering evidence to stop the villains and expose the insider who's helping them.
