reveals that its lead (schoolteacher/single mother Frankie Barrera) is haunted by an accident that happened five years before. It involved her younger sister Izzy, whom she protected from consequences. Now Frankie focuses on her son Julian.

s the story opens, Frankie is called by Izzy's boyfriend Mark. On the way, she's stopped and questioned by police. Her truck was identified as the one used in the abduction of seventeen-year-old Marina Wagner from a nearby town, and only Izzy and Frankie have access to the vehicle.

' and this pulls her deeper and deeper into trouble. As this develops, the story moves back and forth in time to show what happened five years before. Then, a young woman died after six friends partied together - and Izzy felt responsible.
