Murder at Haven's Rock: Haven's Rock #1    by Kelley Armstrong Order:  USA  Can Minotaur, 2023 (2023) Hardcover, e-Book     Reviewed by Hilary Williamson Murder at Haven's Rock continues the story of Kelley Armstrong's Rockton series leads in a new location, Haven's Rock. After the Council dismantled Rockton, detective Casey Duncan and her husband, Sheriff Eric Dalton, started building a new refuge in the Yukon wilderness for people running from their pasts - and this time they're the ones deciding who to accept there. Their Newfoundland dog Storm and Casey's autistic sister April (a physician/ neuroscientist) will be there with them, along with various old friends. Construction is not yet complete. As this first episode opens, an architect and engineer go missing, even though they've been ordered to stay out of the forest. Of course, Casey, Eric and Storm head out in search of them - and find a body. The story continues with them trying to figure out whodunit. Though the main plotline is trending same old, I do still enjoy spending time with this engaging case of characters. New plot threads include a nearby gold mining claim and a woman, who calls herself Lilith, living alone with gray wolf named Nero (a romantic interest for Storm?)
