riting with depth and feeling, Dr. Rabinor thoroughly covers the mother/daughter relationship. Using much of her own childhood along with fictionalized versions of case histories, she explains why getting along with mother is no small matter or challenge.

hether we like it or not, daughters mirror their mothers for generations. Think of all we share from our genetic makeup, surroundings, and history. And don't forget the relatives. e unconsciously absorb our surroundings and our upbringing. This doctor works with eating disorders and conducts groups on the subject. Food is a big factor in all mothering and daughtering. This is very obvious in the U.S. from the time dedicated on television to food coverage, food ads, and the emphasis on exercise – exercise that often doesn't work. It's mighty hard to change who we are, where we come from, and what we inherit.
