those who mourn, grieve, struggle and wonder.
' The author takes texts from the Bible and discusses them in the light of everyday life, to bring out their meaning when it seems they have no relation to our reality.

uthor Poole has not only been senior minister of several Baptist churches but also an inner-city '
minister on the street
'. So he has a very realistic view of people who are having a hard time. His thoughts are gentle, and his kindness and warmth well up through his writing. He is also very careful to cite the source of the quotes he uses.

is very thought-provoking. It is a wonderful text for people who wish to think more deeply about their faith and who are willing to listen to the words of someone who has walked with others in their time of need. It definitely shows us that our struggles are made more bearable in the company of people of faith. We can all use the support found in
