t's 1978 and Colleen Hayes is living life on the edge in San Francisco. Her teenage daughter is a runaway and she is unable to connect with her. She has no money to conduct a search, and her lecherous parole officer is not making her life any easier.

hen, out of the blue, wealthy and extremely ill Edward Copeland hires Colleen to find who brutally murdered his daughter eleven years ago during the Summer of Love in Golden Gate Park. The payment for this job should help her to find her own daughter. Hopefully.

owever, the investigation moves Colleen into the underbelly of San Francisco, where her own life is at stake. She tries to do the right thing - to bring Copeland's daughter's murderer to justice - before the man who hired her dies. Is it possible that the young woman's death has anything to do with the disappearance of Colleen's own daughter?

anishing in the Haight
has a tightly written plot with believable characters as well as recognizable spots that tourists visit on their must-see vacations. Little do they know what happens in the dark of the night. This is a good book and well worth reading.
