Ashland, Oregon is the beautiful little town where Jules Capshaw's bakery, Torte, is located. As Christmas is just around the corner, Ashland is decorated to the hilt and Torte is baking at full speed, trying to meet the pastry demands of the whole area. It's breathtaking to read of the decorations in and about the town.

The residents and merchants of Ashland are more than shocked when a murder occurs in the midst of all the Joyeux Noel sweeping through the area. The murdered man had not been very popular. In fact, he would have put Shylock to shame. So, the festivities continue to the delight of readers.

Something else that will surely delight every reader are the recipes for Christmas baking. How does Cranberry Christmas Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting sound? Or maybe start your meal off with Chicken Cordon Blue Crescent Pie. Then top it off with Lance's Hot Buttered Rum.

Whichever strikes your fancy, A Cup of Holiday Fear is worth a read.
