I will read anything written by Kelley Armstrong, whether her excellent paranormal series, her YA novels, or engrossing mysteries like this one, Wherever She Goes. They are all serious page turners.

This time, single mother Aubrey Finch is sure that she saw a small boy being kidnapped, but no one believes her. No child has been reported missing. Aubrey's credibility is impaired by the fact that she and her husband (Paul, a lawyer) have separated and he has primary custody of their small daughter Charlotte.

Aubrey has kept a dark secret from Paul, and it (and all the resulting lies she told him) overshadowed their marriage and eventually pulled them apart. She felt that leaving Charlie in the house she shared with Paul would be least disruptive, but now she fears that he might aim for sole custody.

Aubrey continues to press the police to find the boy, while they tell her that no child has been reported missing. So she starts looking herself and gets into all kinds of trouble. Complicating matters, Paul seems to have embarked on a new relationship with a partner at his firm, the poised and professional image of 'parenting perfection'.

Matters escalate, with Aubrey facing questions from the police, the Russian mob, and her estranged husband Paul. Can she save the boy she saw taken, without losing her own daughter? It makes for a thrilling read that I couldn't put down.
