arvest season at Montgomery Estate Vineyard in Atoka, Virginia is hectic enough without having to deal with a murder on the Estate. Unfortunately, the victim is not held in high regard by winemakers. He was seen as overbearing, with a monumental ego, and just downright miserable to deal with. He was in Virginia to be the head winemaker at a neighboring vineyard.

here are any number of suspects for the demise of a man no one liked! Nevertheless, he was an aristocratic winemaker, handsome, and Lucie Montgomery's first crush twenty years before. High on the list of possibilities as the perp is Miguel Otero, an immigrant worker at La Vigne Cellars.

o make matters worse, rain is due just at the right time to harvest the grapes to make their brand of wine. However, a skull is found outside the boundaries of the Montgomery family cemetery. Lucie can't leave this alone. Why was this woman (sex verified by the coroner) buried outside the cemetery? Who was she? Why did she die? And most important of all, when did she die?
I
found this an intriguing book. The art of wine making is explored and proves extremely interesting. But the murder of the winemaker is always at the forefront. I spent the time reading
Harvest of Secrets
, imagining the soft hills of Virginia, the barrels of wine aging, and the winemakers themselves. A good read.
