Did you know that Agatha Christie's books have been outsold in the world only by the Bible and Shakespeare? For all Christie fans, author Sophie Hannah (a writer who has quite a following in her own right) has taken it upon herself to fill the void left by Agatha Christie's death, and has done it well. The Mystery of Three Quarters is the third of her new series in which Hercule Poirot solves more crimes with 'his little grey cells'.

The publisher tags this new novel 'a stylish, diabolically clever mystery set in London in 1930'. Someone has been writing accusatory letters stating that their recipients are guilty of killing Barnabas Pandy. Those opening these missives are shocked and angry. Each person has not killed anyone and doesn't even recognize the name Barnabas Pandy.

Poirot takes it upon himself to look into this strange case. First, he must discover who Barnabas Pandy is and whether he is actually dead. If so, was he murdered or has he died of natural causes? The plot of this mystery is worthy of Agatha Christie's fame. It is compelling and uses Hercule Poirot's talents well to solve this most vexing of cases.

In 2014, Sophie Hannah was tasked by the Christie estate to continue Poirot's story. The Monogram Murders and Closed Casket (the first two of this new series) met with happy approval. The Washington Post stated that 'Hannah captures the essence of the originals without being a slavish imitation.'
