I
n the second of this new series,
Dim Sum of All Fears
, Lana Lee is hoping to make a big life change and work in the business world, leaving behind the Chinese restaurant owned by her parents. But we all know that
the plans of mice and men oft go astray
.
L
ana agrees, against her better judgment, to run the Ho-Lee Noodle House while her parents travel to Taiwan to help care for an ill relative. The restaurant is enclosed in a shopping compound, the Asian Village, and is next to a souvenir shop. The restaurant is doing well, but when the souvenir shop reveals what looks like the murder/suicide of the young newlywed couple who were planning to run it, Lana has more on her hands than she bargained for.
S
he also is not so sure the man she had been seeing is really the one for her. She focuses on the tragedy and learns that the husband was not who he portrayed himself to be. His two ex wives muddy the waters as well. Lana feels the deaths are not murder/suicide but murder! Lana feels compelled to do a little investigation herself, leaving the police in the dark when she discovers some answers to her own questions.
I
'm sure that we'll see more of Lana Lee, and that her mother will return home to direct the running of the restaurant as well as Lana's life. Mama is a hoot.
