I
n this stellar novel, Mattie and Robo are in the Colorado mountain ridge on routine patrol when Robo discovers a charred body! In the midst of the beauty of this ridge, a man's body had been burned in a fire pit. Later, the corpses of two adults and a child are found in yet another fire pit.
M
attie is profoundly moved by the horror of the discovery. But her determination to uncover who was responsible leads to the possibility of her own murder! Mattie had hoped that her long lost brother and she could reunite after many years apart. This was not meant to be. What more horror can Mattie handle?
T
raverse this spectacular mountain ridge with Mattie and Robo and wonder how the area's beauty could be hiding such depravity. Who were the burned victims? Why were they killed?
S
uspense lurks on most pages of
Burning Ridge
. The glory of the ridge is depicted so beautifully that it is easy to feel oneself striding along with Mattie and Robo. He plays a good and necessary part in the mystery of who the bodies were. I really enjoyed the interplay with the dog. One forgets just how intelligent animals can be. Don't miss
Burning Ridge
