Murder to the Metal    by Annie Hogsett Order:  USA  Can Poisoned Pen, 2018 (2018) Softcover, CD, e-Book      Reviewed by Mary Ann Smyth Allie Harper, smart and broke, rescued Thomas Bennington III, blind and hot, as he tried to cross a street. Someone in a vehicle blew her horn at him which, of course, confused him and he needed help. Turns out Tom had bought a lottery ticket to show someone they shouldn't throw away their money on lottery tickets because there's little chance of winning. Guess what! Tom had the winning ticket for $550 million!! Allie and Tom now live in a mansion with all the accouterments anyone ever could hope for, including Otis Johnson, who is their live-in bodyguard and gourmet cook. The two created the T&A Detective Agency which gives them their first case. Lloyd Bunker has disappeared, as has his '67 Pontiac GTO. Lloyd is not a popular man and the two are surprised when his girl friend shows up asking for help in finding Lloyd and his beloved car. Murder to the Metal is well worth the read. It's well written, continuing with characters from Too Lucky to Live, the first of this new Somebody's Bound to Wind Up Dead series – and with a plot that will keep you guessing. Throw in some humor, and you can also spend time wondering how you would handle a windfall of $550 million.
