Her intent was to inflict the cuts on herself. Years later, when her therapist is found dead in his office, the man's patients – past and present – are interviewed in an attempt to discover who could have murdered the well-liked man. Of course Nadine is one of those interviewed, but manages to convince authorities she did not kill him. However Nadine questions herself. Could she have killed the man who had been trying to help her to come to some conclusion as to why she had attacked Dr. Fabian? Life has not been easy for her since that day. It is discovered that Dr. Fabian had pulled the old files for Nadine and also a man named Johnny Streeter. Streeter is serving a life term in prison for a mass shooting. In trying to identify the person responsible for Fabian's death, Nadine digs into her own past and discovers happenings in her life that make her question her own actions. It's an intriguing plot that kept me guessing, though I also found myself getting lost in the constant back and forth of the speaker of the moment. The Last Thing That I Told You has a humdinger of an ending. NO FAIR PEEKING.
