Edgar Award winner Wendy Hornsby presents her eleventh mystery novel featuring Maggie MacGowen. It is another good one.

Maggie is an investigative film maker just finishing up a film when her fiancé, Jean-Paul, has a bomb dropped on him by a drone. Maggie rushes to get him back to Paris without leaving an electronic trail. That trip alone is excitement enough for the couple. He is injured and needs care, but they must not leave any sign of their progress, avoiding phones or credit cards or electronic equipment of any kind. Who is behind the bomb? And why? Will Paris be any safer than any other place? Are they being stalked?

This intriguing plot revolves around Maggie and Jean-Paul, of course, but pulls in other members of previous novels in the same series – teenage boys with no regard for anyone else; a mother who has never acted as mothers should; Jean-Paul's brother-in-law who just happens to be the very doctor needed; a brother who fades in and out of the story; as well as a myriad of characters who play their small parts well.

Number 7, Rue Jacob also contains some very interesting apartments and buildings which play their own roles in this suspenseful story. Don't miss it.
