Lana Lee has been forced by circumstances to wait tables in her parents' Ho-Lee Noodle House. She forced a showdown with her boss and quit, thinking she'd have no trouble finding another job. She was wrong. The last thing she wanted to do was to work for her parents. But unpaid bills and late rent payments forced her to do something that was not on her bucket list.

Surely this would be a stopgap. But her thoughts soon turn away from her own predicament when the restaurant's property manager, Mr. Feng, dies from eating shrimp dumplings. Everyone knew he had a strong allergy to shellfish. To make matters worse, Lana is the one who delivered the fatal dish to Mr. Feng!

Lana's mother's main goal in life is to find a husband for her daughter. Lana is determined to find her own husband, thank you very much. Some of Lana's mother's attempts did make me cringe as I read her comments. But I also laughed out loud.

The local media's reporting of the death has kept customers away from the Noodle House. The constant appearance of local police hasn't helped either. Will Lana be absolved of causing Mr. Feng's death? Will Lana's mother find a suitable husband for her daughter? Will the local Asian community survive this blow to the commercial establishments surrounding the Noodle House? Fun book.
