eath al Fresco
by Leslie Karst is a lot of things. It's a really good mystery, offering a sampling of authentic Italian foods that will keep you salivating. There are recipes for some of those foods. There's a district attorney who is honest and handsome and seems to have feeling for Sally Solari, the heroine of this delightful, well-written novel.

id I catch your interest? I should have. Sally started her professional life as a lawyer. But when her aunt died (murdered in a previous novel) and willed her restaurant Gauguin to Sally, she left the world of law to run the already popular eating establishment.
O
f course, as one would expect in a mystery story, things start to go wrong. Sally must deal with her father's plan to serve 130 some people a multi course Italian meal in his too small restaurant, Solari's. Her dog Buster finds a dead body tangled in a bed of kelp! Her father is suspected of doing the man in.

ll the action takes place in Monterey Bay, California. After reading of the delights of the Bay, visiting would be next on my bucket list. Altogether, this was a very good read. I am giving my copy to my daughter and son-in-law. They are both avid readers, both certified chefs; he is 2nd generation Italian and they love to travel.
