Into the Black Nowhere, inspired by real-life serial killer Ted Bundy, follows Unsub as the second in a series starring rookie FBI agent Caitlin Hendrix. Caitlin lives with Special Agent Sean Rawlins (an explosives expert) and the first episode put them both through the wringer, physically and mentally.

Those events also resulted in Caitlin's transfer from Narcotics to the FBI's elite Behavioral Analysis Unit, where she is mentored by C.J. Emmerich. Caitlin is very keen to track down the Ghost who masterminded events in Unsub - he helped the Prophet kill seven people including her father.

As Into the Black Nowhere opens, women are being abducted on Saturday nights in southern Texas. Then the first body is found, displayed in a white baby doll nightie, her throat slashed. Soon there's another, with photos of what look like a dozen more victims at the crime scene. The kills are accelerating.

The tip lines start ringing. A terrified young woman, Lia, identifies her ex-boyfriend (a stalker) as the perp. Though the links seem clear, he doesn't fit the profile, but Caitlin keeps digging into Lia's past. Soon they have a suspect, a real charmer who volunteers for a crisis hotline - is this how he finds his victims?

They do catch the killer after the plot twists and turns all over the map. Meanwhile, Sean is dealing with bombings in San Francisco - the Ghost's work? I assume we'll find out in UNSUB #3. Can't wait!
