Kate Youngblood is a creative writing professor at Blackwood College. She is teetering on the edge of tenure. She feels as though life has passed her by, but at least tenure would give her security.

Her husband left her for a ten-year younger woman after she found them together in her very own bed! She had a bestseller novel but her next one tanked. She is beautiful or, as she feels, was beautiful. She cultivated her independence and felt good about being a little bit wild. But now in her late forties, she finds herself ogling a student – twenty years her junior! Sam Grist is returning her interest. This can't go any farther. But Sam appears in her life continuously. He finally admits to her that he is stalking her.

Watch Me by Jody Gehrman continues with suspense slowly building until the reader can't wait for the next page. As the plot unrolls, be sure to appreciate the wonderful vocabulary used in descriptive phrases. The author likens her surroundings – everyday objects or foliage or buildings or the sky – to words I never would have used but am so glad she did. She places her readers in scenes with what seems like little effort but I am sure kept her reaching for just the right word or phrase. At the same time as enjoying the prose, don't lose track of the thriller before you.
