The twins' mother raised them under strict rule. The girls dressed alike, ate the same things, and talked the same way. Everything was always the same for all of their lives. It was as though the girls were one person living in two bodies.

Experiencing the close bond that only identical twins can, Haylee and Kaylee seem inseparable. Only when Haylee betrays Kaylee in the most horrible way is their bond jeopardized. Kaylee is then left trying to reassemble the pieces of her shattered world, everything broken, trust a joke.

Sent away to a private boarding school from the life she knew, Kaylee wonders if she'll ever be able to regain trust in anyone. She questions if she can trust those closest to her, make new friends, and find love. Predictably, as is standard in an Andrews novel, Kaylee does find solace in an equally damaged boyfriend.

I find the plot to be predictable, yet fascinating. The juxtaposition of good twin and bad twin leaves readers pondering the age-old question of which will prevail, good or evil. Though the ending does tie up all the major conflicts in the story, an unexpected twist in the epilogue hints at an interesting sequel.
