Teri Wilson's Royally Roma (first in her The Royals series) is a light, fun and fluffy retelling of Audrey Hepburn's famed Roman Holiday. Hepburn's stand-in here is PhD archaeology student Julia Costa, who also works full-time as a private tour guide in Rome.

Julia's life changed dramatically when her father was arrested as a Wall Street embezzler. She fled the media to become a nobody in Rome, where she fell for and was conned by Elio, who took every penny she owned. Now she just wants a quiet life and to get on with her studies.

The royal who soon upends that life is Niccolo La Torre, Crown Prince of Lazaretto. He's beginning to feel rebellious about always having to sort out the scandals caused by his younger brother Cassian. After one too many Bloody Mary's in the bar of the Hotel de Russie, he's ready for a change.

Which is when Julia shows up, mistaking him for her client for the day. He decides to go with the flow and escapes his minders. She takes him on a tour of Rome on her Vespa scooter, but wonders why he insists on no selfies. Nevertheless, the attraction is instant and mutual.

As expected, there are misunderstandings on both sides. They are separated and find their way together again before it's all over. And, if you wonder how they could possibly be together, given Julia's scandalous family background - you'll just have to read the book.
