It's written clearly and simply, with bright illustrations, and is filled with games and stickers for the younger crowd. Chapters range from 'What plants need to grow' to 'Grow your own pizzas!' (quite the incentive and a recipe is included). Topics addressed include plant structure and nutrients; seasonal issues and soil types; compost and fertilizer; tools and safety concerns; sowing seeds and managing weeds; growth times and harvesting; what to do in Fall and winter; what to grow and plant rotation; saving and storing seeds. It's thorough as well as cute and parents/grandparents can use the games and stickers to keep younger folk engaged in growing, while the colorful illustrations will help them explain the process.
