Another Tannie Maria mystery, second in this popular new series - The Satanic Mechanic by Sally Andrew. Alexander McCall Smith calls Andrew's mysteries 'A Triumph.' Can't get higher praise than that. Also, Oprah Winfrey added Recipes for Love and Murder by this author to her '16 Books To Start 2016 Right'. Again, quite a tribute. Tannie Maria is a recipe writer who also considers herself a crime fighter. And she can add advice to the lovelorn to her credits. She writes the love advice and recipe column for a local newspaper in her small South African town. She has a growing relationship with Detective Lieutenant Henk Kannemeyer. However she can't give Henk her heart because of the abuses of her ex-husband. She checks out a counseling group run by a man called the Satanic Mechanic. She's hoping to get the help she needs to get beyond the abuse. This leads to a murder and a lot of suspicious circumstances. Whenever Tannie Maria's mind is at sixes and sevens, she heads for her kitchen. Some really interesting recipes grace the back of the book. Don't miss this great story. Trust me. It's darn good.
