his time, Ivan Strakov (a top Russian intelligence agent) defects and insists that the only one he will talk to is Swanson - they knew each other briefly in Marine Corps Sniper School many years before. Strakov's intel sends Kyle to Estonia to conduct surveillance on Russian military across the border from an ancient castle. He meets young Estonian activists, Brokk and Anneli and saves Anneli's life. She plays a role in what follows.

. His quest to understand what's really going on takes Kyle on a special op against a Russian general near Lithuania. It succeeds but at a high cost. Then a senior CIA agent is kidnapped - will she be recovered in time to stop World War III?

he stakes are always high in a Kyle Swanson thriller and this one is just as good and gripping as any of its predecessors, though this time '
Drones and cameras and robots and gigantic computing power
' ultimately win the day. It's an entertaining read.
