Author Gregg Hurwitz calls Rag Doll a 'gruesome delight!'. Take my word for it. He is right on. William Fawkes has a rather tenuous position as a detective with the London police. He holds a really uncertain appointment. He had been institutionalized after assaulting a prisoner at a trial where the prisoner was declared innocent. He knew without a doubt that the man was guilty.

Nicknamed Wolf, he is called into a case where a body has been found. The torso was from one victim. Each arm and leg belonged to a different person and was stitched onto the torso hence dubbed 'Rag Doll'. Along with this horrifying spectacle came a list of the six next victims to die, their end date listed along with each name. The Mayor is the first on that death list and he dies on his specified date!

In Ragdoll, author Daniel Cole has a plot that will keep you guessing all through the book. You will like Wolf. You will question what Wolf does and why he does it. You will have sympathy for him - and also question his sanity. His ex-wife and his girlfriend play big roles in his life. They worry about him. They are exasperated with him, and love him.

This is an extraordinary first mystery novel! Not only is it engrossing, but it is also imbued with a wonderful sense of humor. And it will keep you up late at night to read just that one more page. Don't miss Ragdoll.
