Survivors Will Be Shot Again is the twenty-third in a humorous mystery series starring Sheriff Dan Rhodes in Clearview, Texas.

As this episode opens, Rhodes foils a robbery attempt, with a loaf of bread as his weapon. He'd been trying to take some time off. But it's not to be. He's called out to the B-Bar-B ranch where he finds a corpse (shot twice) in the barn and a sign saying 'Trespassers will be shot. Survivors will be shot again.' The ranch owner, who had recently reported burglary, claims innocence.

As this farcical mystery continues, Rhodes' investigation stumbles upon amateur teen thieves snorting burial ashes, and marijuana patches in isolated areas (one guarded by an alligator, another by a snapping turtle). He's attacked, but luckily by an inept assailant, and has another encounter with the alligator. All in a day's work. Adding to the hilarity, each of his exploits is reported - and exaggerated - in a local blog, Clear View of Clearview.

If you enjoy cozy procedurals and haven't found this series yet, you have twenty-three treats in store, with more on the way.
