Maxine Ford is a private investigator in the Washington, DC area. She loves to sleuth. And she appreciates being independent, having had varied jobs that did not allow her to act the brash, tenacious, tough person she knows herself to be. She bows down to no one.

A senator is found dead in Lincoln Park, declared a suicide by the capitol's police force. But the dead manís wife doesn't buy that. She comes to Max to prove the man did not kill himself. Two world-renowned scientists died just days before they were to testify before the late senator's investigative committee on climate change initiatives. Max is sure a connection exists to global warming, big money, deceit, and treachery.

Reading Climatized, readers absorb facts regarding the controversy about global warming that are wrapped around the story. I have to admit that a good deal is above my head. But I do recognize that this is a serious issue that must be dealt with. Fernandez manages to present the facts while keeping the reader entranced by the side story.

When a fourth scientist goes missing, Max is more than certain that powerful forces are operating to keep the American public in the dark while they line their own pockets and enjoy a sense of power. This is a very timely novel. Well worth the read.
