he Honorable Sebastian Rudd is an Attorney-at-Law. His office, however, is not an impressive room with a big window view of the city, bookcases lining the wall, and a receptionist at the front desk. His office is a van he has converted into an office on wheels. His receptionist is a bodyguard, driver, law clerk, confidant and golf caddie who lives with his mother and is named Partner.

ebastian is at war, at the moment, with his ex-wife over the custody of their son. It seems to Sebastian that the state of war is constant. He wants partial custody so he can make a difference in his son's life. He doesn't feel he's too good at this being a father thing but doesn't want to lose Starcher altogether. His ex is determined to eliminate him forever from Starcher's life.

ebastion is the lawyer criminals go to when no one else will represent them. We, as readers, first meet this unusual lawyer when he is defending a man for the murder of two young sisters. The trial is fascinating. During the period of the trial, we really get to know our lawyer well. His attitude to the bench is off the wall but effective, nevertheless. I was hooked from the first page and am sorry I have finished the book. I want more.

ore cases follow, as well as a kidnapping and the realization that the police and city politicians are corrupt. We learn that with enough money, one can buy almost any witness or verdict. Also that with the right judge a lawyer can win almost any case. Making sure the right judge is assigned to your client's case can also be bought. Makes one wonder if this really, really well-written book is full of truths.

tarcher is abducted. A sex ring raises its ugly head. Sebastian's van is blown up. Which accounts for the rolling office. Don't miss this book. A true winner.
