The Christmas stories found in Silent Nights wrap the warmth of the holiday season in the allure of a well-written mystery, authored by some of the writers considered to be at the top of their profession during the Golden Age of Crime Writing – the 1930s. This was a time when it was felt that there was no such thing as genre writing. Arthur Conan Doyle, G. K. Chesterton, Dorothy L. Sayers and Margery Allingham are just a few of the well-known authors represented in this anthology. Silent Nights is a book to be put carefully away after the season winds down, and then resurrected for the next Christmas season, to be enjoyed once again.
