As a special tie-in edition to season four of the hit show Longmire - now available to stream on Netflix - Craig Johnson's fourth Walt Longmire mystery, Another Man's Moccasins, has been reissued in trade paperback, on sale October 20, 2015.

Veteran sheriff Walt Longmire – strong, fallible, stoic, sensitive, vulnerable, and skeptical – lives and works in Absaroka, Wyoming, but another faraway place has left indelible marks on his heart-and-soul: Vietnam, and he is about to be dramatically reminded of his Marine Corps experiences in that faraway, war-torn country in the 1960s.

On an otherwise uneventful day, Longmire must take on the one job all law enforcement officers dread: the body-dump. The dead body of a provocatively dressed young woman is discovered in a roadside culvert. And except for the blue coloring of her face, a swollen eye, and the tell-tale indications of a broken neck, someone might have thought she was asleep. But then the grotesque crime becomes even more mysterious: the victim is Vietnamese. So, other than figuring out who was responsible for such a crime, there is another question that really bothers Longmire: What the hell was a Vietnamese woman doing in northern Wyoming?

A possible suspect is quickly located near the crime scene, and he is immediately arrested after a brutal confrontation with Longmire. The ragged man wears an old army field jacket, tattered plaid-lined overalls, and intricately beaded moccasins. And as someone also observes, 'That is one Fucking Big Indian.'

But Longmire doubts that the large, unidentified man is really guilty of killing the young woman. A few other people – also strangers to Wyoming – apparently know more than they are willing to say. But there are also personal problems for Longmire in this case: he can feel the ghosts crowing in around him, and, yes, when the investigation is completed, Longmire will admit that Vietnam had overtaken him again. Bizarre circumstances, two desperate people, a bad man, a battered photograph, and a faded letter are all unexpected complications that make this one of the sheriff's most challenging cases.

Well, that should be enough of a preview to tweak your interest. Know, however, that the bottom-line is this: Another Man's Moccasins is another first-rate installment in a must-read series, so don't miss it!
