New York City. 1975. The Big Apple isn't faring too well. The streets are dirty. Corruption reigns. Traffic is gridlocked. Helicopter pilot Jason Sims and his friend Adam Shaker, an investigative journalist, follow a story that may uncover some very dirty dealing that would bring down some high muckety-mucks. Deservedly so.

Urban Flight by Jonathon Kirshner takes to the air with Jason in his helicopter to observe happenings on the ground. He is essentially supposed to report on traffic patterns for New York City drivers. But, in so doing, he has spotted some suspicious meetings that suggest malfeasance. Jason and Adam determine to follow through on the clues they have unearthed in order to nail the corruption in City Hall.

This debut novel brings thrills to the reader, who also gets to listen in on banter between two old friends. Comments on the rock music of the past decade bring another element into a well-written novel. Past and then present times are discussed between the two sleuths RFK's assassination, the Chicago police riot of 1968 and the cityscape of the city as seen from the air. This is a book well worth your time.
