L
osing Faith
by Adam Mitzner is a tour de force and not to be missed.
A
aron Littman is chairman of one of the United States' most prestigious law firms. He has been approached by a well-known defense attorney, whose client is Nikolai Garkov, a Russian businessman suspected of financing a recent terrorist bombing. He is willing to pay one hundred thousand dollars just for an interview with Littman, who suspects Garkov wants to change legal representation.
L
ittman wants nothing to do with this Russian. But it looks like Garkov has blackmail on his mind. He has evidence that Littman had a romantic fling with the presiding judge on a case where he was the defense attorney. This behavior is definitely frowned upon by the legal profession. The judge could be taken from her bench and Littman could be banned from court – both their careers ruined.
