Sirena weighs 193 pounds and vanished in 1959 without a trace. 'She has pouting lips and high round breasts and many men have dreamt of her and chased after her. Two have died in pursuit.'

Sirena was Barrett College's legendary Greco-Roman sculpture, that disappeared from campus and by 1970 still had not been located. Four underclassmen started their careers then, and at a reunion in 1994 learned of a challenge. An alumna of Barrett College announced that an endowment of $25 million would be given to the college for Sirena's return as well as a $3 million purse for whoever brings the statue back to her home.

Different groups of alumni set their minds to winning that purse. Lou Solomon and his three buddies are almost certain they know where Sirena is. They set off to follow their hunches. This is where the fun really starts.

There is always someone ready to upset an apple cart. Another group decides to follow Lou and his old roommates. Skullduggery is afoot and Lou's plans hit a bump in the road to collect the big purse.

The clever plans that are meant to make fortunes for the friends go astray, as others' plans take hold. I found myself holding my breath at the audacity of the denouement. The Sirena Quest is a winner.
