oday's world can be very stressful. The demands of longer hours worked and busy family schedules leave us with little time to relax and rejuevenate. With all the hustle and bustle of everyday life, how is one supposed to quiet one's mind?
H
ow about just twenty minutes each day to doodle and draw? Author Meera Lee Patel offers time to quiet your mind, cultivate mindfulness, and be in the moment as you let your creative side take over.
E
ach page has a simple zentangle drawing to get the creative juices flowing. A quote, such as '
A lake is the landscape's most beautiful and expressive feature
' by Henry David Thoreau, is given with each drawing to further guide your art. The goal is to calm your mind, be in the moment, and fill the zentangle with your own patterns.
W
ith three hundred and sixty-five zentangles to fill and quotes to ponder you will have an entire year of inspiration and relaxation. It is amazing how just a short period of time devoted to doodling zentangles can have such a calming effect.
G
rab your pencils and get doodling! I enjoy filling in the zentangles. You don't have to be a master artist or particularly artsy to have fun with this. If you have more than twenty minutes to spare (or want to get two years out of this book), grab your colored pencils and fill in your patterns (reviewer's suggestion).
