T
his humorous retelling of some of the major stories from Greek mythology has had mixed reviews. Everyone agrees that the art is exceptional but not all adults are pleased with the way the author handles some of the more sensitive issues that deal with sex.
A
iming at older readers (middle school and above), the author uses the vernacular and asides to comment on the action and characters in each story. That might draw in the individual who considered these myths boring and not worth pursuing, but he is a little too glib in some cases. While young males might feel this is funny, girls will, more than likely, have just the opposite reaction.
I
'd suggest parents check out a few chapters to see if they feel the book is appropriate for their sons or daughters.
