Ivy Cohen is the daughter of Lainee Cohen and the man who murdered her. Ivy lived in London but was determined to travel to Annapolis in the United States to find this man, her father, although she didn't know his name or if he was living in Maryland now – twenty-three years after her birth.

She manages her trip and finds work at the Olde Victorian Bookstore owned by series leads Dan and Rivka Sherman. They welcome her as one of their own. With the help of her mother's daily journal, she's able to narrow down her search to one of four men – each related to the other.

Ivy finds herself surrounded by the four men and their families. She dates a younger family member, even though he could turn out to be her half-brother. But the Sermans fear that Ivy's quest might prove dangerous, as she announced to all who would listen her desire to confront her father.

I found the plot intriguing and the relationship between Rivka and Dan charming. I also learned a great deal about Jewish religion and have a new-found respect for those of that faith.

Rosemary and Larry Mild are no strangers to the literary world. They have written a number of cozies with whimsical titles – Locks and Cream Cheese, Hot Grudge Sunday, Boston Scream Pie, as well as Death Goes Postal.
