hat could be more terrible than to see a video of your BFF and business partner, Candice Fusco, shooting a man in cold blood?
This is exactly what Abby Cooper faces. The cops think Candice has ties to the mob. Abby can't believe it. But she is nothing if not true blue and sets out to clear her friend's name. That's faith for you.
A
bby decides to go to Vegas, where the shooting took place. She wants to find Candice. But every time she gets close to finding Candice or clues to her whereabouts, something intervenes. She is determined to help, maybe at the cost of her own life Needless to say, neither Abby's nor Candice's husband is happy with the situation, but each proves to be loyal when it matters.
A
fun book – even with the dead bodies and Abby's having to deposit quarters in the Swear Jar. She manages to rationalize not contributing to the growing pile of coins – excusing herself for one reason or another. Good reasons if a little self-serving.
Fatal Fortune
is a great beach read.
