YPD medical surgeon Dr. Wendell Black is returning on a flight from London when a fellow passenger suffers a heart attack. Naturally Black steps up to assist the woman, but his efforts place him right in the middle of an international drug-smuggling operation.
W
hen a friend of a friend, another physician, suggests that a group of British doctors might be involved in the operation, Black takes the man seriously. But before more information can be obtained from the informant, he is killed and another doctor (Black's girlfriend), who is a friend of the dead man, disappears.
I
t becomes all too clear that the medical people diagnosed this situation correctly but, now, with the lethal malady spreading in some unexpected directions, Dr. Black himself is in jeopardy.
F
rankly the title and the cover of this novel are both so
blah
that you probably wouldn't pick it up off the bookshelf or consider reading it unless someone recommended it. It is a passable thriller with some exciting moments but, over all, this isn't a book you'd probably keep or pass on to a friend to read. On the other hand, it would kill some time on a long flight to some far away destination such as Australia or Asia!
