The Girl with a Clock for a Heart
by Peter Swanson '
a twisty, sexy, electric thrill ride
'. And that it is.
T
wenty years ago, George attended Mather College in New England where his most intriguing course was named Liana. He hadn't seen her since the second semester in his freshman year. He had dreamed of her and couldn't believe that the woman who entered his local bar could possibly be Liana. After all that time.
S
he had broken his heart and he had never been able to mend it. Now here she is, in front of him, asking him for a favor. The fool says yes and thus begins a ride that George will never forget – if he lives through it!
G
eorge suspects Liana, if that is really her name, has murdered. Will she do it again? She wants him to return one-half million dollars she stole from her employer. Why? What nefarious scheme does she have up her sleeve? Doesn't matter. He'd walk a tightrope high above the city without a net if she asked him.
A
nd she asks. Not the tightrope, of course, but almost anything else. He walks into her ideas with his eyes wide open. While the story is a good one the ending is top drawer. Don't peek and ruin the whole book. And definitely don't read the last page ahead. The speculation in a particular sentence will make you want the tale to continue, wanting more. And an answer.
