Trilemma, a first book by Jennifer Mortimer, is, I am sure, the beginning of a long career in writing for its author. Mortimer has taken a page from her own life as a project manager and incorporated it into her story. She does this very well.

Asian-American Lin Mere has fought her way to the top and becomes a CEO of an up-and-coming telecommunications company taking on the big boys in Wellington, New Zealand. She chose New Zealand to further her career mainly because it is where she was born. Her father died there and left another family. Wanting to have a loving relationship with her half-sisters, she hopes to find her father's first family.

Her position with her company is very demanding. She must cut any extraneous parts of her life off if she hopes to reach her goal and show the men in her company that a woman can do a man's job. That also leaves no time to spend with her boyfriend.

This is a fascinating tale of the life Lin takes on when she dares to enter a man's world of business. She must learn to juggle both her career and her desire to be a part of a real and loving family, while surviving the unexpected danger that comes her way.
