zzy McHale has opened her Trendy Tails Pet Boutique in Merryville, Minnesota counting that her small town and its environs will flock to her couture for cats and dogs. To further that goal, she is planning an opening party – The Halloween Howl – to start things with a bang.
H
er best friend and partner, Rena, and she will serve tasty snacks at the opening – canapés from their barkery. Unfortunately, local activist Sherry Harper starts picketing in front of the shop. Sherry is a died-in-the-wool angry woman, sees plots in everything, and just knows she must alert everyone to the travesty right in front of their eyes.
I
zzy finds Sherry's body behind dumpsters. How did she die? Why did she die? Who did her in? There is a town full of suspects. Most everyone is considered by the police to have a motive. They settle on Rena – and the tale takes off.
