I
f you are a fan of cozies (you can count me in there), you must read
Staged to Death
by Karen Rose Smith.
Staged to Death
is what cozies are all about. Smith has written romance for twenty years. This Caprice De Luca mystery series proves that one can change horses mid-stream.
C
aprice De Luca is a home stager. You want to sell your house, call Caprice. She will redecorate your home to appeal to a buyer – so that they can imagine themselves living in their new home. Not living in someone else's house. She's good at what she does and the realtors of her town recognize this. During a down turn in the real estate market, she is very busy.
W
hile staging a home for a woman she was friendly with years ago, Caprice walks into a murder. And it begins to look as though her friend Roz might be charged with the crime. Ignoring everyone's caution for her to stay out of a murder investigation, true to form, Caprice jumps in with both feet.
T
he plot hums along with enough speculation to keep the reader glued to the pages. I like Caprice. Talented, Intelligent. Caring. And with a copious family who love to cook and eat together. That alone endears me to the De Lucas. A few recipes mentioned in
Staged to Death
fill in the last pages. Take my word for it, you'll really like this book.
