I started the day with a smile. I had a new Matt Royal Mystery in my hands. Author H. Terrell Griffin can always be counted on for a good and exciting yarn. A tip before you start on your own copy of Found - there are a lot of characters, so keep them clear in your mind as you read.

Matt lives on Longboat Key in Florida. He is a retired lawyer who sometimes helps out his friends pro bono with legal matters. J.D. is his girlfriend, a cop who has moved from Sarasota to get away from the hard crime with which she was dealing. There are a number of good friends, police, fellow residents of Longboat Key and obviously some bad guys or this story would not have been written.

A murder is discovered and at the same time an elderly resident goes missing. J.D. immediately jumps into action with Matt tailing her to protect her. (She is not agreeable with this. After all she is a dedicated cop!) During her investigation, she receives a dubious text from an old college friend whom J.D. thought was dead! To top it all off, Jock Algren shows up for a visit. He needs to unwind from his job as an operative of the U.S. government's most secretive intelligence agency. He has ties he daren't divulge.

Jock, Matt, and J.D. join in the melée, to discover why old men are being targeted, why someone, maybe more than one, wants to kill them, and how could J.D.'s old friend really be alive?? Good questions.

Found is H. Terrel Griffin's eighth Matt Royal mystery. This is a series but episodes could easily be read as stand-alone novels. And, like potato chips, you can't stop with just one. Read one and you'll be hooked. Griffin writes with wonderful humor as well as the ability to keep readers turning pages long into the night. His plots are devious with marvelous twists and turns that delight. His love of Longboat Key (where he lives) is clearly evident in the words he uses to describe the place. Would like to see it one day. Mr. Griffin, I do hope you are working on number nine.
