These bars are also safe houses for a clandestine organization called The Round Table, Sam's secret benefactor. Although his involvement with the Round Table was greater in the past, now all he wants to do is settle down and enjoy family life with his young son, Daniel. While Sam is visiting his San Francisco bar, a young woman rushes up to him, begging for his help. Sam is forced to kill one of the men chasing her. The man is a Russian whose ties to a syndicated crime organization will put Sam's hope for a peaceful existence in jeopardy. The young woman, Diana Keene, has just learned a secret about her mother that not only puts her own life in danger, but makes her question the life of the mother she adores. But, no matter what her mother has done, Diana will do whatever it takes to protect her. This fast-paced thriller is the third Sam Capra book. Capra would make a great action hero. He's intelligent, young, handsome, sympathetic and original. He is far more complicated though than the typical action hero. And as in the earlier books in this series, the action never stops and Sam never gives up.
