Disbarred lawyer Sean Donovan lost not only his livelihood but his wife, son, daughter and just about everything he held dear when he took a stand on a legal matter he felt very strongly about. He lost.

Thirteen years later, he is still fighting his way back. Disbarred for three years from practicing the legal profession, he has spent his time trying to find his old drive that made him one of the most successful lawyers in the state. He is still not up to par.

After a renowned environmentalist is murdered in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, Sean meets the man's niece and discovers he once knew her. She and the Sierra Club are fighting to prevent a big time developer from turning all the natural beauty of the mountains into a ski resort which is sure to damage the environment irrevocably while the developer becomes very, very rich.

What would save the day is proof that a wild condor lives in the mountains. The murdered man had a clue and was trying to prove it when he was struck down. The developer, connected to the Mexican Mafia, is determined to win the battle no matter what he must do. The lawyer who was responsible for Sean being accused of fraud and barred from his practice for three years is also involved.

Sean takes on another case of an elderly landowner who is on the verge of being swindled out of her land. What with working for the Sierra Club and trying to rekindle his old flame, this almost proves too much.

The Condor Song by Darryl Nyznyk is a remarkable work that is so full of action that, while reading it, one can almost feel the adrenalin start to flow. The love that the author must have for these majestic mountains shows in his lyrically descriptive words that evoke all the grandeur everyone sees when viewing their peaks and valleys.

I give you no more of the story line. I don't want to spoil one moment of this great tale that brings to mind the time when Disney Corporation wanted to build the ultimate ski resort in the Mineral King Valley of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. It's a fine read not to be missed.
