Tiberius Flynn is ordered by his father to go to the Highlands and collect his young niece. Tiberius expects the task to be simple and quick. What he did not anticipate was other relations fiercely protective of this child, especially her aunt. He was not warned that Hester Daniels watched the girl closely and loved her like she was her own. Tye decides that seduction might prove the answer to his problem, but falling for the feisty Hester throws his plan into chaos.

Hester Daniels is in the Highlands to get away from a scandal and a man she did not want to marry. She expects to remain alone and live out her spinster life in peace. Then Lord Tiberius Flynn shows up. She has absolutely no use for him even though he is very handsome and enticing - though there is something that draws her to him like a moth to a flame.

As in all Grace Burrowes novels, this one has beautiful scenery, a well knitted family, a hint of mystery, and a love story that will wind itself around your heart. This author has a way of luring you away for a few hours of utter bliss in the company of well rounded and sometimes humorous characters. Once Upon A Tartan is very well written and Burrowes always will be one of my favourite writers.
