by Sheila Simonson grabs the reader's attention almost from the very first page and never lets go until the final, satisfying one.
A
slight bump in an already bumpy road is that Meg's romantic interest – he wants marriage, she's not sure – is the Undersheriff and his intervention in her possible arrest is a conflict of interest. He must keep hands off.
H
e needn't back off incidents of vandalism and arson and a violent assault on the library's bookmobile though. Are these things related to the death of the woman? She was not the most popular of women who wanted everything to be run under her jurisdiction. She leaves behind a most troubled teenager.

he outcome is a surprise that I didn't see coming. Will you? Good book and well worth the read.
