ith Author Priscilla Royal's newest offering, we return to the summer of 1276 at Tyndal Priory. It proves to be a tranquil season until Alwyne's corpse is found floating in the millpond. Since it is not sure just where the man died, both Prioress Eleanor and local Crowner Ralf decide to ignore jurisdiction and work together to solve the crime.
A
crime it surely was, for the man had been hit on the back of the head and thrown into the millpond. A Jewish man is viewed with suspicion, Jews not being accepted. They have been ordered to relocate to a nearby town, but the Jew's wife is heavily pregnant and in the middle of a difficult birth.
