After the release of her second novel, Christie and her husband Archie set sail on a year long voyage around the British Empire as part of a promotional trade mission. Throughout the trip the author maintained a weekly correspondence with her mother. These letters provide the text for this adventure that took Christie to South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Hawaii and Canada. Through the photos she took herself along with a collection of post-cards, newspaper clippings and other memorabilia, the reader not only gets a rather complete sense of this lengthy odyssey but also an intimate look into the author's personal life. A fitting tribute for the 120th anniversary of Agatha Christie's birth, this is just one of a number of books published to commemorate the author's career.
